Phoenix Fashion week – Spring into Style 2016
In case you didn’t make it to Spring into Style 2016, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite designs and images from the event. For complete photos of the event check see this link.
Spring into Style was held in March 2016 and the focus was on spring trends identified by six Valley stylists. The event included a runway show of the trends plus a marketplace. All of the festivities were held outside at the Arizona Center. It was a lot of fun to be at an event in downtown Phoenix with fabulous weather. Stylists identified trends as metallics, sporty, green, plaid, the white shirt and lingerie inspired (which won the best in show).
Marketplace at Spring into Style 2016
The marketplace included newcomers such as ACONAV and Becki Coakley shoes. ACONAV was a refreshing change to the fashion scene. The designer Loren Aragon debuted this collection in the New York Fashion Week last fall. He influences include pottery patterns and traditional native dress. Loren also brings his mechanical engineering background into his designs. He, his mother and wife sew the garments. Loren also designs accessories which were beautiful! Accessories are available online. All dresses are made to order and you can contact the designer for more information.
Becki Coakley designs her shoes and they are made in Italy. I loved the variety of color and designs plus the use of bows (see the beautiful pink shoes she was wearing at the show). It was so exciting to find a shoe designer in Phoenix and I love her approach.
Last year’s emerging design winner Hues of Ego was also present and Natasha brought some of her beautiful designs for sale including the versatile zip skirt (vegan leather).
